i see the younglings post things like “are you still on tumblr at 30?” and “go take care of your kids instead of reading fics”
and i just feel sad
because you have a bunch of young people who are terrified of getting older.
they think age is going to change them, into something boring, something different, something grey.
and i just want to tell them, reassure them:
you will still be the same person.
isn’t it wonderful?
you will love the things you love for so many years. you will find joy in the same things, decade after decade. you will feel the same inside, through all this time.
yes, the body will change. yes there’s more responsibilities, less time, even less energy.
but there’s no magical age where you stop enjoying that specific story, that specific game, that specific hobby.
but you know what also comes with age?
you have less fucks to give.

not the way white people are already comparing raya to moana and korra even tho their cultures are literally nothing alike…
Re: AtLA….The hair loopies, identical blues, similar costuming. Come on. Young raya could stand in a group of water tribe women and you wouldn’t be able to pick her out. You’re not wrong, the water tribe was inspired by Inuit culture, so why the hell do they look like they come from the same place?
yup despite how much it doesn’t make sense ASP just left the characters stagnate for 10 years so she could give them the finale that she originally planned. like are we really suppose to believe that luke and lorelai were together for 10 years and never even thought about marriage again before ayitl even though they were ENGAGED in season 6?? and I didn’t even hate the “Rory is directionless” aspect but it makes so much more sense for Rory in her 20s not Rory in her 30s. It might not have been what she wanted but Amy could have made incredibly interesting character arcs even though she had to skip over some stuff fans would have wanted to see. I mean look at Emily, she got a very interesting character arc because she had deal with something that realisticly would have happened to her between 2007 and 2017. In 100% sure that if Edward Hermann hadn’t passed then Emily and Richard would have stayed stagnant too.
EXACTLY like one of luke and lorelai’s major issues was their lack of communication as a couple so to see the same thing happening again was so annoying like what are we supposed to believe they were doing in the last 10 years if they couldn’t just have logical conversations about marriage or kids?? rory’s storyline would have made so much more sense when she was in her 20s finding her feet in the adult world not just like oh yeah she’s been floundering in her professional and personal life for 10 years, how do they expect people to be happy about that? emily’s storyline was pretty much the only thing they got right
Being directionless in your 20s and in your 30s are two very different things, with 2 very different sets of emotions behind them. What can be invigorating in your 20s is frustrating in your 30s.
on all levels including physical I’m on 2% battery & the charger is hiding from me somewhere on the car floor
i love when catholics call it appropriation when people dress as sexy nuns and shit for halloween, like dude one could argue your entire faith is appropriation
followers of christ build statues of jewish heroes and tell their children stories of jewish heroes and act as if those are their heroes and their stories
the only reason anybody believes in these derivative faiths to begin with is because it was violently forced onto people across the world. Catholics have no right to decide who can and can’t participate in their “culture.” that shit is free-game. everyone has the right to dress as a sexy nun.
Sooooo everyone ok with the sexy burqas then?
Nuns are people y’all, people who took vows and try to live their lives adhering to their principles of faith. And you have such little regard for them that you’re saying it’s not only OK but justified to treat their lifestyle like garbage.
The sexy thing, it flys in the face of everything the habits are intended to do. And it is appropriation to take that for your own amusement and disregard the cultural intent behind it.

The FTC has regulations prohibiting targeting ads at children, so there is really very little incentive for companies to pay for them.

no other person on this planet was made for you, they were made for themselves. love is all about choices. no one is going to be perfect for you, and i think we need to stop raising everyone on the belief that someone out there, just one other person in the whole world, was “made for you” because it isn’t true. no one is made for you, besides you. other people belong to themselves. if you want to make it work with someone, it’s about hard work, understanding, compassion, communication, and choice

the longer it goes with Patrick Rothfuss not saying anything about this whole ~situation~ the more worried and frustrated I get
@bookcub hello, im just hearing this, what is going on and since when
His editor posted on Facebook she hasn’t seen a word of the book and doesn’t think he has written a word in years.
I’ll reblog the post after this
@bookcub omg… Thats so sad… I ve been waiting for the book since 2012
Yup
I really don’t think he lied.
As a professional creative who suffers from anxeity, it sure looks a hell of a lot like nothing when you’re working your butt off and aren’t ready to show anything for it.
Most creatives aren’t great at fending off the corporate reps they report to, who I turn have to report on financials. There’s a real disconnect there.
They clearly aren’t communicating well, but honestly, that’s her failing, not his.
I’d truly be shocked if he hasn’t worked on it at all. I’m also not shocked his editor feels that way.
A Witch who when she was an infant was stolen, eatten and rebirthed by a hag, giving her witch like abilities. Going through life believing she was a scorcerer until shes told she is doomed to become a terrible monster, a hag herself. She now goes adventuring to find a cure before her 21 birthday.
That honestly sounds really gross. The idea of being eaten and then rebirthed? Yikes.
WHAT.
I hate this knowledge. Holy shit.
Here
Hey… WotC… what the absolute fuck.
OP you are a coward this fucking slaps.
I’m sorry that I am not a fan of children being eaten or a fan of children being harmed in general.
My bad, bro.
That’s just how celtic-Irish mythology be sometimes
It’s totally just people who were disappointed when their pubescent daughter became super moody and sprouted acne, so they made up an entire species of mythological creature to explain it and say “you’re not my daughter, you must be a hag”
